Students will not participate in all classes or activities due to the availability of staff,
weather conditions, time restraints, and other circumstances.
NECESSARY EQUIPMENT:
Sleeping Bag and Pillow Extra Shoes and Socks Soap, Shampoo, Deodorant Sweatshirt or Jacket
Flashlight Garbage Bag for Return Trip Comfortable Walking Shoes Towel
Rainproof Gear Old Clothes Waterproof Shoes or Boots Insect Repellent
Check with the weather forecast and pack accordingly. It is usually
several degrees cooler at Camp Soles than in Pittsburgh.
GENERAL NOTES:
1. Place your name on all items, including the sleeping bag.
2. We can not assume responsibility for lost or stolen items. Do not bring items of value. Money may be checked with your cabin leader.
3. Place the payment and permission slip in an envelope with your name on the envelope. Make checks payable to "Harrison Middle School". Please put your child's name on the memo line of the check.
4. Students should KEEP medication on their person until arriving at Camp Soles, then give it to the nurse.
5. When there is lightning or thunder, you should seek shelter immediately in a camp building and stay there until it stops.
RULES:
1. You must abide by all camp rules and the rules and policies of the Baldwin- Whitehall School District and are subject to any actions deemed necessary.
2. You are not permitted on the docks, in the boats, in the water or out of the camp without adult permission. When fishing, you must have adult permission and use the buddy system.
3. The Dining Hall is family style. When directed by an adult, all students should enter the dining hall and be seated. You are not to leave your table until dismissed by a high school counselor. You must report immediately to the fire circle for announcements after every meal.
4. Boys should not be near the girls' cabins, and girls should not be near the boys' cabins.
5. Students should listen to all adults and counselors.
6. After dark all students should be on the near side of the lake.
7. Students are not permitted out of their cabins between curfew and 7 AM without permission of their cabin leader and appropriate supervision.
8. Buses must be clean before anyone departs from the bus.
9. Students will be held responsible for all loss, defacing, breakage, or destruction of camp equipment and/or property.
10. Failure to follow these rules may result in disciplinary measures, which may include having a parent come to camp to take you home.
11. Fishing equipment should not contain any instrument that may be considered a weapon.
