Goal-Setting and Student-Led Conferences
encourage students to take an active part in their
education. Such conferences provide students with
an opportunity for reflection and accountability
(in partnership with their parents and teachers).
During the
fall conference, students and parents set goals and
make plans for future progress while at the spring
conference students have an opportunity to reflect
on their achievement. During the spring conference,
students review the steps which they had taken to
accomplish the goals that they had set during the
first conference. Additionally, students can reflect
on their learning experiences since the first conference.
Goal-Setting
and the Student-Led Conference Programs encourage
students to become responsible learners and to celebrate
their achievements. Students improve their communication
skills as they confer with parents and teachers.
