| Welcome to J.E. Harrison
PTSA! J.E. Harrison is a unit member of the Baldwin-Whitehall
Council, Pennsylvania and the National PTA. We have monthly
PTSA meetings (no December meeting) and all parents, teachers,
and students are welcome to attend. Join us at a meeting to
keep up on the lasted news and share your concerns and ideas. |

Where
and When are the PTSA meetings?
Are listed below and are on the HMS School Calendar (you will
receive from you child that lists only HMS activities) and the
B-W District Calendar (mailed by the district to your home). |
|
Day meetings begin at
9:15 a.m. and are held in the Teacher’s Lounge, located
off of the cafeteria.
Evening meetings are held either in the school auditorium (located
off the cafeteria) or in the school library (second floor) and
begin at 6:30 p.m. |
|
| Day meetings: Please
enter school from Windvale (top parking lot). Ring buzzer and
sign in at the school office. Using stairs near the main entrance
– proceed downstairs to the cafeteria. The Teacher’s
Lounge is located in the corner near the kitchen area. |
|
| Night meetings: Please
enter school from the lower parking lot. A guard is on duty
and can direct you to the Library on the 2nd Floor or to the
Auditorium. |
|
Where
do we park?
Parking: You can either park in the top lot – visitor’s
parking spaces (if any are available for morning meetings) or
lower lot. During evening meetings or events, park in the lower
lot. |
|
How
long are your PTSA meetings?
We begin on time and our meetings normally last (1) one hour.
The September meeting is normally
(2) hours because we vote on the upcoming school year’s
budget. |
|
Can
I bring my children to the meetings?
Yes. We try to keep the meetings short but please bring along
an activity for your children. |
|
What
type of fundraisers does Harrison PTSA participate in?
Sarris Candy Sale (December delivery), T-Shirt or Spirit wear
items and the Annual Talent Show
Box Tops for Education, Cartridges for Kids, and Giant Eagle

What
are PTSA funds used for?
The Harrison PTSA raises funds to support programs such as:
Arts in Education (Reflections), Reading Counts (library reading
program), 6th grade Family Bingo Night, School Supply Sale,
Teacher Grant Program, CLO Assembly, Grade level activities,
and many others. |
|
How
involved do I as a parent have to be?
You can either chair a committee or just help for a few hours.
Sign up at Open House or call one of the officers. |
