As a
community service project and a fundraiser for the
Baldwin-Whitehall Council of PTAs, Abitibi Paper
Retriever® Recycle Bins have bin placed at all
schools in the Baldwin-Whitehall School District.
You can recycle clean and dry: newspaper, magazines,
shopping catalogs, office papers, school papers
and even mail. Paper maybe shredded and bagged.
No phone books, food packages or any type of cardboard,
please! Nothing can be accepted from the kitchen
or bathroom. This may be done 24 hours a day/7days
a week at any school building in the Baldwin-Whitehall
School District. We earn money for paper dropped
off at our green and yellow Abitibi Paper Retriever®
bins. For more information, log onto PaperRetriever.com.
Helping
Your Child Succeed in School
is a workshop for parents of elementary
and middle school students that provides
pertinent information about what parents
can do at home to contribute to their
child’s school success. It has
activities that parents can use to help
their child acquire the skills to succeed
in school, and answers often-asked questions
about how to work with teachers and
schools. No registration is required.
Guiding
Good Choices is
a 3-part series for parents of children
in grades 4 through 8 to teach specific
strategies for promoting healthy behaviors
in children. Parents will learn how
to strengthen family bonds, set a clear
family position on drugs and alcohol,
teach children skills needed to make
healthy choices, and increase children’s
involvement in the family. Participants
are asked to come to all three sessions.
Dinner and babysitting will be provided.
Please contact Jean Williams at 412-885-7530
to register.

Tyes
Family
Tyes features rod building, fly tying, and casting
instruction. The club organizes day trips to local
streams and lakes, three weekend overnight trips
and, an annual dream trip to the state of Montana.
The Rod building session is about to begin. Registration
and a meeting is planned for Monday, November 7
at 7:30 p.m. at Baldwin High School’s North
Cafeteria. At this meeting there will be a discussion
about the rod building process and choosing the
correct rod for your needs. Rod building officially
begins on Wednesday, December 7. This will allow
one month for materials to arrive. This class has
been enjoyed by students ranging in ages 8 to 80
and with families working side by side. Start the
Family Tyes journey that introduces the joys of
the outdoors through fly-fishing that can land along
the majestic shores of rivers in Montana. For further
